Richmond Public Library's Special Collection on Chinese Culture contains over 25,000 items with different genres and topics, including a large number of Chinese art albums and calligraphy, as well as many old books with traditional thread binding. The digitized version of this collection, a condensation that contains 50 pages from six different carefully selected old books, will be of interest to Chinese communities in Canada seeking reference to culture works and to all those who are eager to know more about the traditional Chinese culture through an online channel. The six chosen books are representatives of Chinese culture, with topics ranging from calligraphy to Fengshui and fortune-telling.
This condensed digital collection will be accessible to everyone over the Internet, but full access to the physical items remains controlled by Richmond Public Library.
